Shane Hunter is an accomplished multi-species ice-fisherman from Elk Point, South Dakota. He fishes extensively across Eastern South Dakota and Northwest Iowa during the ice season. Shane’s true passion is sight fishing bluegills in the gin clear waters of West Okoboji, Iowa. Next to sight fishing he enjoys chasing the jumbo perch and walleyes of the Glacial Lakes Region of Northeast South Dakota.
Shane has recently gotten in to the world of tournament ice fishing and has some impressive finishes through his first two tournaments. He has a 1st place in an individual walleye tournament (out of 40 competitors) and a 4th place finish with fellow pro-staffer Nick Lavelle at the 2014 Big Stone North American Ice Fishing Championship (NAIFC) tournament near Ortonville, Minnesota. By way of their fourth place finish, they automatically qualified for the 2014 NAIFC National Championship to be held at Lake Mille Lacs, Minnesota.
